Recently I read an article about this woman in Sweden who posted before and after pictures of her bedroom. She is battling depression and what many don’t know, I didn’t know, is that one of the symptoms of battling depression is the lack of motivation to clean. Reading this took me back to a conversation I had with my sister Charlene about four years ago.
I was recently speaking with a friend of mine who has health issues for certain reasons. One of them being her job. And it made me realize, this is a common thing anymore. Women are so stressed at work for either trying to keep up with home, kids and work. We try to prove we can do the job just as well as a man. Or, we are trying to make up for the fact that we are women.
Inc.com put out an exercise for us to try and find our life purpose. I accept that challenge. I am copying and pasting their article to answer the questions:
1. Write down all the the things you absolutely love to do in life. Be outrageous, open-minded, honest, and creative. Label it your “My Love List.” It may make more sense later, the point is to get inspired and let your imagination run free.
On September 1st, I went to my Dr. for my annual physical. Prior to this appt, I started doing research on my age and hypothyroidism. In the past year, I am ashamed to say, I’ve gained almost 20 lbs. I was unhappy with myself and hated to look at myself in pictures. But, I kept allowing pictures because I didn’t want to be THAT mom. The one that my daughter didn’t have a few years of pictures of.
