As a single mom I have my daughter with me 50% of the year. This would have been less if I had chosen not to sell my home last year and move closer to where my daughter’s father lives. Where my daughter chose to go to high school. With that said, single mom’s need time to decompress and enjoy their time when their child is with their parent. Here are some ways to get out of mom mode and out of the four walls of your home:
I am a mom to a wonderful daughter who is part of the LGBTQ+ community. She is so outgoing and loves life in general. I am glad that she is being raised in a society, that, for the most part supports this community. While she is the typical teen, she will also give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She is very compassionate and sensitive and at times has even reeled me back in when I go into a rant. She knows no enemy. Just pity for those who live life in fear of what they don’t understand. She understands that people may not agree with this lifestyle and that’s ok. It’s their beliefs and she doesn’t push her lifestyle on others.
You all may remember a post I did on Six of my Favorite Campers. I went in and really researched what is out there that I could use if it were just me traveling. Now, keep in mind, I do hope to live in one while working from the road. That is my goal once my daughter graduates high school and college, then moves on with her life. Although, you know mother and daughter relationships. She tells me now, “Don’t let me stop you. Go. Have fun.” Gee. Thanks kiddo. 😛
My daughter turns 16 in three months. She will have her learners permit at that time. OMG. I am way too young to have a daughter who is about to start driving people! I mean come on now! How and when did this happen???
I was recently speaking with a friend of mine who has health issues for certain reasons. One of them being her job. And it made me realize, this is a common thing anymore. Women are so stressed at work for either trying to keep up with home, kids and work. We try to prove we can do the job just as well as a man. Or, we are trying to make up for the fact that we are women.
Everyone has a list of things they want to do. From the most basic to the most impossible. As you know from reading previous posts, one of my biggest desires is to travel.
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.
It’s been eight years since I’ve told you, face to face, Happy Birthday. Today, on which would be your 75th birthday, I’m sending yet another wish to you via air mail. I will continue sending you these air mail messages until I can talk to you again face to face. This will hopefully be many years from now as I have the responsibility you had in raising me. I’m raising my daughter. I can only hope that I raise her as you raised me. An independent woman who knows what she wants out of life.
