While I am not looking forward to the day my son goes off to college, I am looking forward to being THAT mom. You know the mom… The one who sends off college care packages. I’ve still got two years, but I am looking at great package ideas that I know he will look forward to receiving each month!
So, now that your student is off to college. They’ve had a few weeks to settle in. What are you sending that they miss the most? Your homemade cookies? Pictures of the family? Videos of your everyday life courtesy of a flash drive? Yes, I know there are emails, but some things are worth the wait!
Here are some suggestions for other fun things to include in their monthly college care packages:
Movie Tickets – Fandango is a great gift to send because they are accepted nationwide. And let’s be honest, kids love movies and hanging out with their friends.
Fun Shirts – Zulily has these awesome Nerdy is the New Black shirts that your son or daughter will love wearing!
Fun Socks – Socks seem to be the new favorite thing our kids love to have to make a statement. These socks from Amazon are perfect Halloween socks!
The Gift of Prime – Amazon offers 50% off for student Prime accounts. If your student needs something quickly, it’s easy for them to sign on and get if needed:
Memories Book – My Four Years is a great book that allows your student to write one line a week. A quote they heard that week, or just something they want to always remember.
Safety First – When our kids are gone from home, every parent worries for their child’s safety. Oh, who are we kidding? We’ll worry about them even when they’re married and have kids of their own. This alarm is perfect for announcing you need help when needed.
Snacks – This one is a no brainer! What teenager doesn’t like to munch on snacks? The best ones to send I think would be Cheez-It crackers, cheddar pretzels, chocolate, of course, peanuts, baked chips (Hey, trying to keep some things healthy!) Veggie baked chips are great!
