As we used to do the week after Christmas, my son and I, and now, his girlfriend, went to the Poconos. We love it up there. We were going to go snow tubing, however, unfortunately, that didn’t happen. It turned out to be a nice day, and the tickets sold out :(. We had gone to Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania during the day, with the intention of going to Camelback Mountain for night time snow tubing. We now know, DON’T WAIT when it is in the 40’s and sunny. That is the perfect snow tubing weather!

However, we did have a great time in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania! We were staying about 10 minutes away from Camelback Mountain in Bartonsville. Jim Thorpe was about 45 minutes from there. Driving there was pretty. Once we got there, I couldn’t believe I had never been there, as many times as I’ve been to the Poconos!

There were so many unique, cute shops. And the store owners were sweet as can be. Talking and sharing stories and even demonstrating items that they sell. I found one store that I fell in love with! It was near and dear to my heart, because this store owner handmade a high percentage of her store inventory. As a jewelry designer myself, I haven’t taken that leap yet! I sell on Etsy and at vendor shows. In the future, I want to travel the country doing vendor shows as well. I was talking with Melanie, the store owner of Bee Stung, and she actually did this as well. She traveled to vendor shows, before settling into a brick and mortar store and she loves it. She gave me a few tips that I will be forever grateful for!

One of the unique things about going to a store that is owned by an independent crafter? They can remake the items for you! I was purchasing a key chain and a necklace. She offered to turn the key chain into another necklace for me! You SO cannot get that at a chain store, can you? However, make that decision for yourself and take a look at her quaint shop! You will love it too!

I mean honestly…. How can you NOT fall in love with her items!

My son and his girlfriend had gone their own way and found this coffee shop. And let me tell you Potterheads out there! This Harry Potter themed coffee shop is just what you need in your life! Muggles Mug Coffee Shop was just like sitting in the Gryffendor Common Room!

I got my letter!
Handsome fella, isn’t he?

That Harry Potter Cafe looks so neat! The store would be a stop I would make for sure if I was in the area! What a great place to pick up a gift for an upcoming birthday or holiday.
