Every once in awhile, companies get it right and a specific group of people goes crazy over certain items. I currently do not have an RV, but as I mentioned, I’m doing my research before going full time when my son graduates high school. So I am part of several RV Groups on Facebook. While I’m not an RVer yet, I’ve jumped in on a couple of RV shopping trends. Even hating on Walmart for not having my RV Camper PJ’s to join the virtual RV Women’s Pajama Jammie Jam!
One of the women were nice enough to offer to ship a pair! But, shortly after, the PJ’s became available on Walmart’s site and I wasn’t hating Walmart anymore! I got to drink the kool-aid and matched up with my sister RVers :).
However, as of today, July 8th, they were out of stock again 🙁 Come on Walmart! Your supplier needs to get on the ball with these PJ’s! The women RVer’s demand justice and want their PJ’s to join the Jammie Jam! But, they do have other cute 2 piece PJ sets including Hawaii travel ones and ones that are coffee related. Check them out! You can also keep watch on their site by bookmarking the link to see if they come available again.
Or, if you don’t want to wait, you can also buy them on Amazon. Amazon also has another pair of cute PJs. Here is the Camper PJ Pant and the Camper Pajama Tee. Although I did come across a shirt I think I need to get… Women’s I RV in my Pajamas T-shirt.
The other hot item this summer in RV shopping trends is the Ice Machine! If you have a smaller fridge, freezer space is hard to come by. So a table top ice maker may be in order. The Dometic Ice Maker seems to be in hot demand right now. It’s a steeper price, but if you love your ice, your ROI will be on point. However, Igloo has a similar one that’s a bit cheaper if you can’t afford the Dometic. And the Igloo Ice Maker is comparable with the Dometic in that it can make a batch of ice in less than 15 minutes. They both produce up to 26 lbs of ice in a 24 hours period.
The people in my groups are LOVING IT! Ok, let me rephrase that. The margarita and daiquiri drinkers in my RV groups are loving it! Ice in less than 15 minutes???? YES! Sign me up and join me for a drink!
Fairly similar, yes?
The third thing in the past two weeks that has been in hot demand with RVer’s all over the country is the Blackstone Grill! This grill seems to be perfect for your outdoor cooking needs. There is also the Blackstone Gas Grill Griddle Station if you are of the mindset of “Go Big or Go Home!” There is a gap on the sides at the front of the grill. It is currently being worked out, but the VP of Blackstone products sales suggest putting a binder clip at the corners to plug those gaps. Another member of the RV group suggested heating it to where it’s pliable, and modify the shape to curve it.
Be careful with that option and make sure to get Kitchen Gloves good enough to handle the heat to avoid having to stop your grilling and visiting the ER. We don’t want that!!! Although, you may get a free night of boondocking in the hospital parking lot if they have that option…. Nah… Still not worth it!
To do the same here, that I did with the Ice Maker if you’re unable to swing the price for the Blackstone, and you really really really want an electric grill, Presto has a nice alternative Electric Skillet option for you to choose, that your wallet may like better.
Now, you all know that I am all about downsizing as much as you can. But, there are some things you can’t do without. Am I right or am I right? And yes, pajamas is one of those necessities! Unless you want to run around in your undies. But, hey. You do you hon!
RV shopping trends tend to be all about what is needed and not always about what is wanted. But I’ve loved watching the interaction amongst the groups. RVing women going ga-ga over the pajamas. Some even saying they’re glad the set is sold out online because they don’t wear regular pajamas and they don’t want to be tempted! Other’s teasing about it being high school all over again and the peer pressure! And yet others laughing at themselves for “drinking the kool-aid” and falling into the trap of buying these trending items!
So, if you’re an RVer, or heck, even if you’re not, have you bought from the RV shopping trends? Or what other trends have you fallen victim to? Is there anything else you would add to this summers RV shopping trends list? Comment below or share on my Facebook page!
Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links and I may make a small commission on any items you purchase. However, after the government laughingly takes their share, I’ll be able to save the rest to drink more kool-aid and spend on other upcoming RV shopping trends. Because we all know there will be! Or, I can contribute the money to my electric bill. Whichever one I deem more important at the time :P.
Enjoyed the blog !
Will you get into “reviews” too?
Unreal how Travel Trailer Life (TTL – FB) shares these things so fast .. LOVE campers!!!!!!!
Right? It’s great! I’ve learned a lot from these groups!
These are all great things to take on an RV trip with you!! I am always down for some comfy pjs!! LOL!!
Ricci, it was funny. I’m a member of several RV Groups. And the ladies were going crazy over them lol. Yes, myself included!
Oh my word, those jammies are just the best! I have never gone RVing. I think I should fix that!
I love these pajamas! They all look so comfy. I dream of owning an RV too, but my husband is not totally sold on the idea. He said it is too expensive to maintain. Maybe sometime in the future I will be able to make him change his mind.
I didn’t know that RV jammies were a thing, but they sure are cute. Those small appliances look like they would be great to use on an RV!
Oh I love that set of yellow green PJ and that black tshirt. Enjoyed shopping with your blog.
We have always wanted to live a traveler lifestyle and hang out in an RV traveling throughout the country. It’s amazing what a cool trend it is to go RVing. I love that black shirt!
Great shopping picks! I love those pajamas, they look so cute! I’ve always wanted to try RV traveling!
I honestly would love to rock some camper pjs. I have to now look to see if they are in my area!
This reminds me… I need some new PJs!! I totally need one of those onesie PJ sets, they’re so fun!
I would love to travel by RV sometime. I remember doing it long ago one summer as a kid.
THis is on my list when I retire, to go RVing. I used to do this with my grandparents. Loved every minute of it!
That’s awesome you’re going to be traveling in a camper after your son graduates! Ha ha those pajamas are cute. Also, I didn’t even know tabletop ice-making machines were a thing, but that would definitely come in handy for a camper. Safe travels, and I hope you have a wonderful time!
Erin recently posted…AMNICON FALLS STATE PARK
Erin, they would also be great if you’re going to have a BBQ or something? Just start it the day before and you’re good to go!
I don’t RV as an adult, but remember going with my family when I was younger. Although I am not a part of the RV trend I definitely fall into trends. Currently loving cold shoulder shirts haha.
Nice selection. Thanks.
