With my increasing want and need to travel the country and possibly live overseas for a year or two, it got me thinking. I’ve never been away from my family during the holidays. I don’t count the times I’ve had to work on a holiday. I mean I’ve never intentionally been away from my family during the holidays. With my trying to determine if being a full time RVer is for me, I figure I can always pack up my travel camper and swing back home for the holidays before hitting the road again to continue my travels.

In recent years. i.e. the last 10 years, Thanksgiving shopping has been a trend that is, in my opinion, unacceptable. Thanksgiving is a time that family should spend together. Thanksgiving is a time we should have to be thankful for everything we have. Granted, that should be every day, but… Thanksgiving is NOT a time that people should have to leave their families to go to work if they’re not in a job that it is necessary. Necessary jobs include Hospitals, Police Stations, Fire Departments and yes, even gas stations.
I’ve shared with you that I recently moved from Delaware to Pennsylvania. I sold my house and got rid of so much clutter and, in general, stuff. I’ve always lived in places that have been at least 800 square feet. My first house after I got married was just under 1600 sq ft. My last home before moving to PA was 950 sq ft.
This past summer, my daughter and I went to NYC. One of my bucket list items was to stay in Times Square. I wanted to see the life and vibrancy of the city and how late that lasted. We drove in to the Trenton Train Station and managed to get an earlier train, woohoo! It took about 1 1/2 hours to get to the city.
I have to admit something to you all. I am TOTALLY jealous of the Millennial generation. Not only because I’d love to relive my youth… (Oh come on, you all know you want to relive your youth. You can’t lie to me! :)) And certainly not because when they do stupid things, it’s all online forever. I am extremely glad that the stupid things I did will never see the light of day again.
My daughter turns 16 in three months. She will have her learners permit at that time. OMG. I am way too young to have a daughter who is about to start driving people! I mean come on now! How and when did this happen???
Last night, the next step in my journey to follow my dreams happened! My new business website went live! Why am I sharing it here with you? Well, I’m excited about it and want to share it with everyone. I want to shout it from the rooftops with the hopes it takes flight :). This is my first step in taking the reigns and leading my life in the direction I want to go in. I want to be responsible for my own destiny. Not just a number to an offsite payroll department.
Every month, on the first Friday, my town shut down the main streets around our Borough. It’s never postponed or canceled. Rain or snow, the show will go on! This is one of the joys I’ve found living in a small town.
I read an article on MSN about what the #1 cause of financial stress in every state was. As with most of these types of articles, i.e. “the most searched item online in each state”, I assumed it was going to be a fluff article. This one for the most part, showed legitimate concerns. The following number of states main causes of financial stress were:
I was recently speaking with a friend of mine who has health issues for certain reasons. One of them being her job. And it made me realize, this is a common thing anymore. Women are so stressed at work for either trying to keep up with home, kids and work. We try to prove we can do the job just as well as a man. Or, we are trying to make up for the fact that we are women.
