7 Surprises Found From Drastically Downsizing Your Life

I am writing you this blog post while making my way across the US from Seattle to Atlanta.

You’d think that moving almost every year since graduating high school (I’m now 30 years old) would’ve sufficiently kept my life fairly downsized. This is only partly true. There is no better motivation to downsize your life, than a move and packing up all your belongings into boxes is a sure-fire and convenient way to reduce your lifestyle footprint.

Boondocking ~ How to Find Your Free RV Campsite

mobile-home-1539082__180

By now, you all know that I am hoping to purchase an RV and travel the country while working from the road. I previously wrote about Six of my Favorite Travel Campers. There are many people who want to live this kind of lifestyle, but, feel they can’t afford it. So, I researched that further and found that it is actually cheaper to live as an RVer than it is to live in an apt or house, paying rent or mortgage. Here’s my post on RV Budgeting That Won’t Break the Bank. What Can the RV Life Cost?

Our Weekend in New York City

This past summer, my daughter and I went to NYC. One of my bucket list items was to stay in Times Square. I wanted to see the life and vibrancy of the city and how late that lasted. We drove in to the Trenton Train Station and managed to get an earlier train, woohoo!  It took about 1 1/2 hours to get to the city.

Taking a Page From our Millennial Generation. Don’t Settle.

I have to admit something to you all.  I am TOTALLY jealous of the Millennial generation. Not only because I’d love to relive my youth… (Oh come on, you all know you want to relive your youth. You can’t lie to me! :)) And certainly not because when they do stupid things, it’s all online forever. I am extremely glad that the stupid things I did will never see the light of day again.

RV Budgeting That Won’t Break the Bank. What Can the RV life Cost?

You all may remember a post I did on Six of my Favorite Campers. I went in and really researched what is out there that I could use if it were just me traveling. Now, keep in mind, I do hope to live in one while working from the road.  That is my goal once my daughter graduates high school and college, then moves on with her life. Although, you know mother and daughter relationships. She tells me now, “Don’t let me stop you. Go. Have fun.” Gee.  Thanks kiddo. 😛

My Dream is Becoming a Reality!

Last night, the next step in my journey to follow my dreams happened!  My new business website went live!  Why am I sharing it here with you?  Well, I’m excited about it and want to share it with everyone. I want to shout it from the rooftops with the hopes it takes flight :). This is my first step in taking the reigns and leading my life in the direction I want to go in. I want to be responsible for my own destiny. Not just a number to an offsite payroll department.

Six of my Favorite Travel Campers

I’ve mentioned in previous posts, that my plans once my daughter graduates is that I want to work from the road while I travel the country. Since it’ll be just me traveling, I just need a smaller camper to pull behind my car. I currently have a 2014 Kia Soul. So, weight limitation is a concern. Upon further research of the Soul’s towing capacity, even with the smaller travel campers, I am going to have to purchase a new SUV to pull my new home with.  I will go into the reasoning why I am choosing to go with a travel trailer instead of a an all in one RV in another post.

7 Financial Causes of Stress in America

I read an article on MSN about what the #1 cause of financial stress in every state was. As with most of these types of articles, i.e. “the most searched item online in each state”, I assumed it was going to be a fluff article. This one for the most part, showed legitimate concerns.  The following number of states main causes of financial stress were:

10 Things a Woman Can do to Eliminate Stress

I was recently speaking with a friend of mine who has health issues for certain reasons.  One of them being her job. And it made me realize, this is a common thing anymore. Women are so stressed at work for either trying to keep up with home, kids and work. We try to prove we can do the job just as well as a man. Or, we are trying to make up for the fact that we are women.

Empty Nest Years are Coming to a House Near Me

It has finally hit me.  My daughter is going into her sophomore year of high school.  I’m thinking ahead and quite a few things hit me!

  • She will have her license this time next year
  • We will be doing college tours in two years
  • She will graduate in less than three years.
  • She will be old enough to vote in the next election in four years

Once I let all that sink it, I realized one thing.  I’m getting old!  Nah… I mean I am, but, I don’t feel it. I sure as heck don’t act it! So, it got me thinking.  Once she’s done college in seven years. What the heck am I going to do with my life? I mean, the last eleven years since my divorce, I haven’t really give much thought to my empty nest years.
