As promised, here is my two week update!
As you all know, two weeks ago I started my weight loss journey with a little help to kick start my metabolism with a prescription form of Phentermine. The Dr told me that the average weight loss in a year with doing nothing else by taking the pill was 24 lbs. I figured, I’m fine with that. Even with that loss, I’ll still be down to a weight I hadn’t seen in about three plus years.
For those of you who don’t know what Phentermine is, it is a pill in doses of 15mg, 30mg and 37.5mg. Each dose will eventually stop working and you need to go to the next dose. It acts not only as a metabolism booster, but, also an appetite suppressant. Since taking the pills, I have still been eating my normal food with the exception of snacking. Only every few days will I have a snack, and even then, not a big one. So, I have changed some of my eating habits. I had become that person who ate because I was bored. And while I hated myself for it, I couldn’t stop myself. With this change, I’m not sure if it was the appetite suppressant part of the pill, or I truly made up my mind to get it done. That I finally hit that wall and was sick of how I was looking and feeling. Also, I do park further away from the door at my job. So, I am getting some extra steps in during the week.
So, my update is this. In the first week, I lost 6.8 lbs. As of today, I’ve lost a total of 12.2 lbs in the two weeks since I’ve started Phentermine. While I check my weight weekly, I check my measurements every two weeks. According my my measurements, I’ve lost a total of 8.5 inches. Most of it lost in my hips. So, I’m wondering if I measured that correctly! It showed a five inch drop on that part of my body alone! I’ll have to keep an eye on that in two weeks :).
My daughter put a HUGE smile on my face when she told me that the leggings I was wearing? They were starting to get baggy on me :). My daughter has no filter and will tell me the truth. Not what I want to hear.

There you have it for this bi-monthly update. Things are going well. I’m not starving myself. But, I do feel comfortable. Now to go eat breakfast!
Have you tried Phentermine? How did you do with it?
Congratulations on the weight you’ve lost so far, and on your determination 🙂 I’ve never heard of Phentermine until I read your post – it seems as though it’s being a benefit in both boosting your metabolism and curbing your appetite. That’s interesting on how there are different doses that you move up through as your body acclimates to the lower dosage.
I should look in to an appetite suppressant of some sort – I do tend to have a voracious appetite! Snacking here and there adds up for me, especially at night when the kids and my husband are in bed – I’ll have ice cream or something else not-so-terrific-for-weight-loss as I reflect on the day – or veg out watching tv.
I enjoyed reading of your success, and will check back to see your continued progress — and to get inspiration for spurring myself in to losing the extra pounds I’ve gained.
Congratulations again 🙂
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Congrats on your weight loss. It’ s so hard.
Great new that it’s working! It’s not something I’ve heard of before but I do think that it’s all about habit. Once you become accustomed to a certain way of eating, it’s easier to maintain. It’s just getting your feet off the ground that’s the difficult bit. Hopefully these pills will help to do that for you 🙂
Also, definitely better to monitor measurements rather than weight, because muscle weighs more than fat so you might be toning up! 🙂

Congratulations on your journey so far! I have to admit I’ve not heard from Phentermine I need to check out more about it.
I’ve never tried anything like that before. I’m not sure if I would, but it’s definitely worth considering. Thanks for the info, and thanks for the update. Keep it up!
Congrats on you weight lost! I know to lose weight is not easy, but continue fighting the good fight and just take on day at the time.
Congratulations girl that is absolutely awesome! Keep up all the positivity and you will get to the goal that you want to.

Great job on your weight loss! It can be so tough to lose weight, if only it was as easy to take off as it was to put on. I love the honesty of kids, they tell it like they see it!
Glad to hear this is working for you! Snacking is my downfall when it comes to weight loss, so I can see how not being hungry for snacks would help a lot.
Congratulations! I hope things keep going great! I have not heard of that pill, but I wonder if I could be a candidate for it. Sounds like it could help a lot of people out!
Good work on the progress. I am a mess when it comes to planning ahead on meals and trying to stay fit. I know that I want to make changes in my life, it just is that MOTIVATION that I feel like I lack! Thanks for the update!
So happy that you are getting into baggy clothes! It is a big milestoene. Onward friend!
Congratulations on your weight loss! I hope you are able to stick to it with the holidays coming! You can do it!
Congrats on your progress! I haven’t heard of the pills before. Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey 🙂
I have not tried this but your review has definitely made me interested!
Congrats on the weight loss!!! Losing weight can take a while and takes a lot of hard work and dedication.
Congratulation on your weight loss journey. I haven’t try this yet, but love your review!
It sounds like you are still on track and making progress. When it comes to my weight I can tell what is going on by the fit of my clothes. I love your daughter’s honesty, she sounds like my kind of gal. Parking far is a great way to get in extra steps and you let less dings on your car door.
Awesome progress and very inspiring. You made me want to fo back to what I have started but got sidetracked.
Good for you!! I haven’t tried that, but I’m totally a boredom snacker. If I leave the house, I don’t have that problem, just at home. My husband wonders why I never want to sit around the house, well…the more I sit on the couch, the more of me I have to sit on the couch.
